About Me

Welcome to the blog of Cara Clarke. I'm a chartered librarian from the West Midlands and have worked in libraries since 2003. This blog has journeyed with me through various jobs, and blog posts focus on the corresponding sector accordingly:
School librarian: until 2011
Systems librarian (FE): 2011-2015
Librarian (HE): from 2015

My Twitter account is @CaraClarke. I was the 2014 recipient of ARLG's Alison Northover Bursary, previous committee secretary for CILIP West Midlands branch (2011-2014) and ex-member of the now-defunct CILIP Update editorial panel (2010-2012).

BtB is simply a collection of informal thoughts, musings and general chatter about libraries and my work. I originally established it to reflectively record my activities in preparation for chartership, and reflection is still my main reason for posting. I do not claim to be a great font of knowledge on all topics related to libraries, but I thought a blog would be a fun way to record and share my experiences.

(Incidentally, any comments I make are my own personal views and in no way associated with my employer or any other organisation / individual.)

So please, browse at leisure and feel free to leave comments.
